When the System Fails:
Indian Economist and Noble laureate Amartya Sen, once challenged a common belief—that crises like famines are purely natural disasters. Through his research specifically on the Bengal Famine, he demonstrated that such events are often not caused by nature alone, but by systems that fail to protect people. Poor policies, unequal distribution, and lack of awareness turn manageable situations into major crises.
This idea extends beyond famines. In today’s world, many challenges faced by youth—especially financial struggles—are not just personal failures. They are the result of a system that never taught them how money works.
A look on the Pakistani System:
We are educated, Not prepared:
In Pakistan, the system educates the students but never prepares them for real life challenges. The result is that Pakistan despite having a large youth population suffers economically. Many students if they get jobs suffer financially. This individual thing becomes collective on a larger scope .
Why Waiting for the System Is Not Right:
While reforms in the education system are necessary, waiting for change is not a practical solution. In Pakistan, the education system is already heavily criticized, and millions of children who should be in schools are still out of it—highlighting a gap the system has yet to address.
